On the 27th of January, seven NET alumni from Ireland boarded an almost-empty plane in Dublin and made our way to Germany. We had been invited by a chaplain on a U.S army base to proclaim the Gospel to a group of their youth. It was SENSATIONAL!
We traveled to Nuremburg to sight see. With an over sized sausage in one hand, a pretzel in the other, an empty backpack ready for souvenir stuffing and a few poorly pronounced German sayings fading quickly in the back of our minds, we made our way off of the train station and into the beautiful, ancient (freezing) city of Nuremburg.
The Churches were....how can I put it. Ah yes, big! and... really really good looking! My question is, why don't we make them like that anymore? Is it that we can't? We have less technological advanced machinery compared with the middle ages? Do we lack the resource or is it that we lack the love? While you contemplate that, keep in mind that the Beijing National Stadium that was used for the olympics cost 423 million US dollars...anyway, I'm running off at the mouth.
The overnight retreat was an incredible experience where we witnessed first hand the power and love the Holy Spirit. Teenagers that had not been to confession in years were lining up with tears in there eyes to have their confessions heard. There was a lot of healing that took place. Please offer a prayer for the youth that we ministered to.
